No, I’m not Dead!

September 14, 2007

I just realized that the last time I wrote a blog was in July… like 2 months ago… Whoops!

Lots has happened since then. I got my Sidekick III (thank god), Instant Gratification is mostly back up on it’s feet, I had a birthday, and I’m back in school for the semester.

My digital life has pretty much died for the last few weeks. I’m all over the place with school, work, QSA, and friends/family/boyfriend, and I haven’t had much chance to get anything done at all.

Sooooo I started this post with a lot of drive to write a lot, but that has just deserted me =P

Keep an eye on the Instant Gratification page for a new post tonight/tomorrow! We’re recording Episode #5 tonight and it should be edited/posted ASAP.

I’m bored at work. I literally have no work to do at the moment. Read on for the log series of quizzes I am occupying myself with…

So I re-installed my copy of World of Warcraft yesterday. And downloaded a free trial of the expansion, Burning Crusades. And re-activated my account. Once more I descend into the abyss that is my geekery.

If I had the choice, I’d ditch WoW in a hearbeat to return to the classic days of Ultima Online, before it went all wonky. I used to play that game for hours, and never really got very far in improving my characters. But I still had a great time. Then they made it all 3D, and then started introducing weird crap like Samurai and other things. Luckily I had stopped playing before that happened. The obvious solution, of course, is to join one of the many free shards that are floating around. You can download the game’s client for free nowadays and just jump on someone’s free server and play. But it’s not the same experience as it used to be. Alas, one can rarely return to those carefree days of yore…

So for now I’m content with World of Warcraft. Katie from work plays and I’ve started a new character on the same server that she plays on, so at least now I’ll actually know someone that plays rather than all of my friends just kinda looking at me funny whenever I mention it.

But my Blood Elf Warlock will never be quite as cool as my Mage with the misspelled name, “Pheonix.”

So I’m sitting at work, about to start actually working when all the lights go out and my computer shuts down. Break time! Basically I just spent the last 3 hours listening to The String Quartet Tributes to Muse and Senses Fail and playing Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. All the while getting paid for it! Gotta love unavoidable circumstances.

That’s pretty much it.

Happy Friday the 13th Everyone!

Today was a good day. I got to work at like 10 after picking up my co-worker and we ended up going to a pizza place for a looooong lunch. Afterward we went to see the new Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie, which was… alright.

Yea. I don’t really know why I’m posting at all. I’m at a Friday the 13th party so I’m gonna go. Hope everyone is having a great Friday!

One More Thing…

March 27, 2007

I updated my Wish List today, took off a few things and added my desire for a paper shredder. I’m addicted to shredding.

If you’ve found your way to my lil corner of the blogosphere, you probably know me already. If not, congratulations!

This post is little more than a placeholder until I actually feel like blogging. So tough luck!

I wouldn’t want to leave everyone emptyhanded, though, so here’s something to keep y’all occupied. If you click here you’ll be taken to the WordPress page for the podcast my best friend and I have just started. It’s hilarious and will soon sweep the world. All hail Blonde on the Inside!

Hello all you in cyberland…

Even though I’m fairly sure no one even reads this =P

Charlie just left my house, so I’m just chillin’ and relaxing. But I have to shower and get in bed earlier than midnight tonight, unlike the last few days lol. 5 hours of sleep is not enough to operate on comfortably. But oh well, everything went fairly smoothly today. I made fun inserts for my new binders last night, one of which is all pictures of me and my girls from high school and one is all my Mel-bugs and I. Apparently a very high school-ish thing to do, but I never did it then so why not start now?

Charlie came over to my house for dinner tonight which was fun. My mom made homemade tacos and we all sat and talked for a long time. My family seems to be very open-arms to Charlie, and whether or not they know we’re dating yet, I have no complaints. My grandma from Texas and my mom both hug him when they see him and are all very conversational and seem to enjoy his company. I’ll take what I can get at this point =P

Work was actually fine today. It kinda felt like it was dragging on at one point, but I got frantically busy afterwards so the rest of it flew by. I love my job, its the only job I know of where you can work on homework if you’re done with all the pressing work. My boss is awesome and I generally like all the people I work with. Plus i get a raise up to 9.75 in October! Soo woot for that.

Anyway, no ideas yet about what I plan to change my blogging too (see my last 2 blogs for what I mean). Though I’ve decided to get a separate blog for my other idea so I still have my own personal lil outlet. Sooo keep an eye out for that.

Its shower time, a little gaming time, then bed time! G’night all!

Can’t Sleep…

August 21, 2006

For some weird reason, I can’t seem to fall asleep. I’m in Jenn’s room at Mel’s house, so the unfamiliar room might be part of it.

It’s been a while since the last time I posted, for various reasons, but I’m pretty sure I’m back to stay. I plan to do a little work on overhauling my journal’s look and such, freshening it up a LOT.

Tomorrow is the first day of the new semester of school, so I’m pretty excited for that. I’m spending the night at Mel’s house so that she and I can carpool the first day and I don’t have to wake up quite so early. We did face masques and i clipped my nails and got all groomed so as to make a good impression. I’m really optimistic about this semester, my classes seem interesting, my professors fair, and my outlook on meeting new people is positive and energetic. I have my outfit for tomorrow all laid out and ready to go.

Today Charlie and I finally got some much needed alone time. My parents left at like 8:45 to go sailing with a friend on the SF Bay, and Charlie got to my house at 9. After spending some time together we took off for the State Fair, which was kinda fun. The best part was being able to go with him, the fair itself was lacking. Though we went on a ride together and I had a good time. Afterward he took me to Elephant Bar down the street for lunch and I had a GREAT burger. He had to be home earlier than I would have liked for his dad’s birthday dinner, but thats totally fine.

However gay of me it may be, I’m really liking what I’ve heard of Christina Aguilera’s new album “Back to Basics.” I love the classic jazz era and the attitude she brings to the genre and the way its blended with modern styles as well is great. I was really surprised at how emotional and real-sounding the songs “Hurt” and “The Right Man” ended up being. And the song “Nasty Naughty Boy” makes me think of someone in a Moulin Rouge-like costume crawling sexily along a dinner table, stop and take a sip of a wine glass, throw it at the wall, and be all sexy-like. But that’s just me. =)

Friday is my 19th birthday!! I’m only excited because Charlie apparently has some plans for it, and that’s never happened for me before! So I’m telling my family that they have until 3 PM, and after that I’m going out with friends. They can push the birthday dinner back to Sunday. I got my first present yesterday too. My parents bought me a brand new cell phone since my Sidekick II kinda konked out on me. I’ll have a new number in November because of the way we swung the deal, but for now I’m using my Samsung t509 with my same number.

I would kinda like to change this blog from a personal diatribe to something a little more hybrid-ized. Right now it’s simply an outlet for my personal ravings, but with my desire to do more serious writing, this seems like it would be a good alternative outlet for that. Any input or ideas are more than welcome. Lately I haven’t had a whole lot of material on which to write, and posting news articles I’ve written just onto my LJ seems like a bit of a waste. But we’ll see. Now that it’s a LOT more convenient for me to post to this, I’ll be doing it a lot more often. Hopefully given time it will become something I’m a little more happy with.

Anyway, it’s now officially way too late for me to be awake, so I’m going to try to head off to sleep. Catch you all later!
